Today at my office we had the Salvation Army Flag Raising in Richmond Hill for the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
Raising the Salvation Army flag in Richmond Hill marks the start of the Christmas Kettle Campaign—a time of giving, hope, and support for those in need. It’s a powerful symbol of community coming together to help others during the holiday season.

I was honored to acknowledge the outstanding contributions and tireless efforts of Mackenzie Hospital in providing exceptional healthcare services to our community.
We have been fortunate to have this fantastic hospital right here in our community. Thank you to all the healthcare professionals, volunteers and supporters for the success of our hospital. I wish the continued success and growth of Mackenzie Hospital for many years to come.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO MAKE HOUSING ANNOUNCEMENT IN RICHMOND HILL – Nov 27
I’m happy to share that I had the honor of attending a significant housing announcement event in City of Richmond Hill.
The Federal Government, represented by the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, made a groundbreaking announcement that will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our community.
The commitment to addressing housing challenges is a testament to the collaborative efforts of all levels of government. It was an excellent opportunity to discuss and support initiatives that will contribute to the well-being of our residents.
I look forward to witnessing the positive changes that will come from this announcement and continuing to work together to enhance the quality of life for everyone in Richmond Hill.

We are getting ready for winter here in Richmond Hill.
It is a big job to make sure all the roads are properly cleared, salted and maintained for our winter safety.

The Village of Richmond Hill BIA Annual General Meeting
I was present at the Village of Richmond Hill Business Improvement Area (BIA) event in the evening to demonstrate my support for the ongoing success of BIA. I conveyed my best wishes and acknowledged the relentless efforts and dedicated services provided by BIA. Furthermore, I advocated for open collaboration to facilitate mutual business development.

1st Anniversary Commemoration – Oct 1, 2023
1 year ago today 50,000 people came to Richmond Hill.
I held a press conference to honour those involved with a plaque ceremony to acknowledge all those who helped organize a monumental moment.
I was happy to work on making this happen 1 year ago but the true heroes are the organizers and all those who came out to this groundbreaking event.
Mourning the loss of Mahsa Amini and others that have lost their lives for wanting basic human rights and freedoms like we have in Canada.
This will forever be part of Richmond Hill’s history as the largest peaceful rally that has ever happen in York Region.
Thank you to Minister Michael Parsa and MP Ali Ehsassi who came out to my ceremony but also supported this event with me last year.
Flag Raising – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – Sept 27, 2023
Today I met with some incredible Indigenous leaders at City Hall. I thank them for coming as we raise a flag to recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Day!
We must continue to work on healing and doing even better.
The Richmond Hill / Oak Ridges Terry Fox Run – Sept 17, 2023
Attended the Terry Fox Run today.
Thank you to Glemena Bettencourt for everything you do make this happen. Your constant commitment to this cause in our community for so many years is outstanding.

Press Conference – Ode to Press Grand Original Music Concert – Sept 16, 2023
Congratulations to all the organizers on putting together a successful press conference celebrating Arts and Culture in our community.
Grateful to receive $6 million dollars in Federal Funding to improve the David Dunlap Observatory.
This will allow residents to walk to it more effectively so they can enjoy this historic treasure in our community.

Congratulations to all of our amazing athletes that received an award at our Annual Sports Award Ceremony.
Our City recognized numerous successful athletes from Olympians to national champions today.
We are very proud of all the incredible athletes that represent Canada from here in Richmond Hill.
Sports include Beach Volleyball Olympic Champion, Curling, Speed skating, Baton Twirling, Ringette, Figure Skating, Taekwondo and Snowboarding.

Meeting with Fire Department – Mar 28, 2023
It was a good meeting today with Richmond Hill Fire Chief Bryan Burbidge and Deputy J. Bennett. Our discussions included three fires that occurred in our community this past week.
I would also like to thank them both for taking the time to brief me on these events but also a tour of our active training centre for new investigating officers and for all you do in keeping our community safe.

Richmond Hill 150 Anniversary Flat Raising – Jan 25, 2023
We’re celebrating 150 years in 2023.
Richmond Hill was officially incorporated as a “Village” in 1873. To commemorate our 150th, we’re hosting activities for the community throughout the year. From tree plantings and community activities, to public art and time capsules, we’ll have something for everyone in Richmond Hill to enjoy.
At City Hall we raised the flag Celebrating our 150 years!
I remember our 125th Anniversary at City Hall and can say hitting 150 means so much!
There will be events throughout the year.
