We are committed to keeping you informed about the latest updates regarding COVID-19 vaccination clinics in our region. Please take a moment to read through the following information to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.
Important Information:
1. Vaccination Clinic Updates: Starting October 10, we are pleased to announce that updated COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer XBB.1.5) and influenza (flu) vaccines are now available for appointment-based vaccinations for eligible high-risk priority groups. For specific eligibility criteria, please refer to the details below.
Furthermore, beginning October 30, the updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines will be available to all individuals aged six months and older.
2. Clinic Booking Details: Our COVID-19 vaccination clinics provide vaccines to eligible individuals aged six months and older. The appointment booking system displays slots only up to 10 days in advance, so please check frequently for appointment availability.
3. Mask and Face Covering Support: We support the use of masks or face coverings in public settings and clinics to reduce the spread of respiratory viruses. If you’re feeling unwell, it’s important to stay home to protect yourself and others.
4. Respect and Civility: We kindly request that all residents interact with our public health staff and fellow community members with respect and civility. Any form of harassment or abuse will not be tolerated.
Stay Prepared: Before attending a COVID-19 vaccine clinic, make sure to prepare accordingly for your vaccination. Your health and safety are our top priorities.
Available Vaccines:
COVID-19 mRNA vaccines:
- Moderna XBB.1.5 COVID-19 vaccine
- Pfizer XBB.1.5 COVID-19 vaccine
Important Note: Health Canada has recently approved Pfizer’s XBB.1.5 COVID-19 vaccine, and further information regarding its availability in our region is expected soon. Approval for the Novavax XBB COVID-19 vaccine is also anticipated.
COVID-19 non-mRNA vaccines:
- Novavax vaccine is available by appointment only. Note that Health Canada has not yet approved the updated Novavax XBB COVID-19 vaccine.
Please be aware: Astra Zeneca, Medicago, and Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) vaccines are no longer available in Ontario.
